The journey of a Bay Area startup: Cloud and You |
Cloud and You was started by three co-founders who have a passion for art. During a business trip to London, they visited several museums and connected through their joy of art. After a few drinks, they felt that one missing piece for artists were collaboration and expert critique. This blog will tell you all the ups-and-downs, the frustration, pitching and funding, and all the hard work into building a company. This is as real as it gets. No frills. |
We switched from Java to Ruby on Rails now. Our new team member is Chris Trinh, which is friends with our Rafiki Idea Guy Duy Le lol.
Our launch date for closed beta is on March 1st. Holla atcha boy!
This is our office. We are usually here 6 days out of the week to work. We also sip wine, so if you are thirsty, come on by so we can feed you some Hot Cheetos and some drank lol

Zen Master
Kevin and Samantha had just recently joined our team! We all had met up at Hackerdojo and discussed with Kam (CVO) about our upcoming projects. Both are excellent candidates to help us build our product. If you have time, check out Samantha’s blogspot. Kevin on the other hand will help us code in Java. He has 6 years in Java development. Both are SJSU students and just recently finished their finals this week.
Welcome Kevin and Sam to our team! We are glad that you both will help us make decisions and advance into new ideas :)
Below are snapshots of what Samantha did for her portfolio. Visit it!!! Hella nice!!!

Jean-Marc and Kamneel had met Chris Yeh from PBworks on Friday and Chris really liked our idea! Very happy to hear that they actually met him and was given some advice. No investment yet but I am sure there are things we can work out with him in the future :)
I have been building a team for our business and let me tell you it hhas been pretty hard. Hard work pays off though right? I mean if its easy everyone would have done it. Anyway, there are couple of people who are willing to step in to join. With the help from Monte and his friend, maybe ththis week we can narrow the excellent ones from the good ones.
I have joined Rackspace for the heck of it. Slow. Well maybe because it was only 2gb of memory. In sure it’ll be faster if I picked 15gb LOL.
Our deadline is November 16th. That is the day we gotta finish our prototype! As of now we really need programmers! Someone who is hip, young, in school and enjoys working with people like us!
This week we would need to email our attorney too. We haven’t heard from him or them actually. Hello Peter are you there? Give us a ring would ya?
This week we posted an ad on Craigslist. We hope to find the person who has a bright mind, who is willing to step ahead and take one for the team, who will manage their team of engineers, who can do what it takes to get the jobs done. Low and behold, we might of found him.
MS in Computer Science from SJSU. Worked with 3 other startups in the Bay Area and provided advising to their engineering team. A very smart guy! Needless to say, he knows how to code and build the architecture from the ground up. This is one of the superstar who is willing to take one for the team.
We are happy to speak with him and have him start our project tomorrow.
